Who we are

Library Services at UAL is a crucial partner in the University’s learning, teaching and research agendas and its student experience. Our academics and course production team work closely with the library when designing your courses.

You’ll find a range of key learning material embedded throughout your course. All of your core reading material will also be available online. We’ll link out to these materials in each of your units as you progress through your study journey.

How you'll be supported

In addition to the materials that will be available in your course, you’ll also have access to the online library at UAL where you’ll find further material in the form of e-Books, e-Journals and specialist databases covering images, articles, videos, reports and trend forecasts.

Contact the team

Your core material will be signposted to you in each of your units. You’ll get access after teaching start. Once you’ve started your course, if you need help using the Library, there are a number of additional ways you can access support.

‘Ask’ enquiry service

You can get in touch with the Library using their ‘Ask’ enquiry service. On this page you will find a list of frequently asked questions and a form that you can complete if you can’t find the answer to your question. The Library will respond to your question via email.

Contact your subject librarian

Each course has a dedicated librarian that you can also contact. Your course librarian has extensive knowledge of the Library materials that relate to your course and the wider subject area. You can find out who your subject librarian is and how to contact them on the Library website.

Use the Library live chat

You can chat to the Library using the live chat function on their website. Library staff will be happy to answer your questions or direct you to where you can access further support. Live chat is available from 9am – 5pm UK time. You can find the live chat on the Library search page.
