Clothworkers’ MA Material Futures Bursary

The Clothworkers’ MA Material Futures Bursary of £10,000 is available to 1 Home student enrolled in the first year of the MA Material Futures course at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London.

Eligibility

To be eligible for The Clothworkers’ MA Material Futures Bursary, students must be:

  • considered a Home student for tuition fee purposes and
  • enrolled on the first year of the full-time MA Material Futures course at Central Saint Martins, UAL starting in September 2023 and
  • can demonstrate an interest in focusing on textiles during their studies.

About

The Clothworkers’ Company is one of the ‘Great Twelve’ livery companies in the City of London. Founded in 1528 to regulate the clothworking trade in the City, the mission of The Clothworkers’ Company today is to inspire and empower individuals and communities through action, partnership and financial support. We are particularly focused on UK textiles, charity governance, and philanthropy. For almost 500 years, championing textiles has remained at the heart of who we are and what we do. We are a leading supporter of the UK textiles sector, developing partnerships that enable us to invest in and support academic research and innovation, skills development, training, textiles design, heritage and conservation.

The scholarship will be assessed on the basis of financial need and academic merit. It will provide a contribution towards tuition fees.

Applications are welcome from those who are in financial hardship, with an interest in focusing on textiles and those who will benefit from undergraduate studies to realise their full potential.

Receiving payment

The scholarship will provide a contribution towards tuition fees.

Tuition fees will be paid directly from the award into the University’s Tuition Fees account.
