Biography

Salah is the Institute Coordinator at the UAL Fashion, Textiles and Technology Institute, where he is supporting business development, strategic partnerships, opportunity analysis, operations, and project managing the New Landscapes: Fashion, Textiles and Technology Catalyst R&D Grant Scheme in partnership with the British Council. Salah is also leading on admin support for seven UKRI-funded work packages as a part of the Business of Fashion, Textiles & Technology at UAL - where he provides an efficient interface between Central Services, Finance, Legal, HR, Recruitment, and industry collaborations, including pre- and post-award setup of accelerator programmes.

Salah is a qualified PRINCE2 Agile Project Manager, responsible for managing research activities in HEIs, from initiation to closure, including contract negotiations, writing PIDs, setting up objectives, milestones, timelines, meeting support, progress monitoring and reporting.

Before joining UAL, Salah spent four years at the Centre for Analysis of Risk and Regulation (CARR) and Care Policy and Evidence Centre at the London School of Economics and Political Science, coordinating research projects and collaborations between academia, policymakers and the Government.

Salah is a Central Saint Martins (UAL) graduate, a specialist in printed and woven textiles and is well-versed in the design practice, innovation language and creative industry needs. He is an emerging designer with a commercial portfolio and a winner of The Worshipful Company of Weavers Awards. He works collaboratively with architects, interior designers and curators on a range of installation-based projects, publicly displayed in museums and galleries such as Stowe House, Quintain, Christie's, tp Bennett, The Worshipful Company of Vintners', Ben Uri Gallery & Museum, Imperial College and the V&A.

He focuses on digital and sustainable innovation, innovative research, placemaking and creative industries.
