Chelsea Space

We are the public gallery at Chelsea College of Arts.

Our emphasis is on testing ideas and exposing the creative process. We do this through:

  • collaborating with artists, cultural partners and our courses
  • supporting UAL research.

The programme includes talks, workshops, screenings and exhibitions.

    10 July 2025 - Cora will reflect on a prayer for Coventry, life starts here (forever), the film she created during her residency at the Herbert Art Gallery & Museum, paying particular attention to archives, oral histories and the concept of categorisation.

    17 July 2025 - Holly and artist-curator Wanja Kimani will lead a roundtable discussion exploring potentials and challenges of decolonial and reparative justice work within arts and heritage collections

    24 July 2025 - Zoë will present a cartography of thoughts and considerations that emerged during their residency at MIMA, in conversation with Adjoa Armah, anti-disciplinary artist, writer and educator.

    20/20: Reflections - Christopher Samuel

    31 July 2025 - Christopher will be in conversation with Rachel Fleming-Mulford discussing themes of stigma, belonging and agency that underpin his 20/20 residency research into the experiences of disabled people of colour at Birmingham Museums Trust.

    Judith Clark and Carol Tulloch

    A joint residency at Chelsea Space between exhibition maker Professor Judith Clark and design historian-curator Professor Carol Tulloch.
