Students and staff at LCC can now access a new, secure bike storage facility at the College.

Bicycles can now be stored in a pedestrian-only area of the LCC car park, accessible only to those with a valid UAL ID card. The area also includes a sheltered storage facility.

Where is the new bike storage facility

The facility is located in a pedestrian area of the LCC car park.

Access to the bike storage is via a pedestrian gate, near the external windows of the far corner of the Typo Café (adjacent to St Georges Road).

How can I use the bike storage facility

Scan your UAL ID card on the access pad, which is located on a post near to the entrance, to trigger the automatic gate.

Although the new bike storage facility offers good security and is covered by 24-hour security camera surveillance, it is strongly advised that bike owners still use substantial locks on their bikes to fix them to the stands. Find out more about cycling to UAL.

The sheltered area provides protection from the weather and is not a replacement for a lock.

Students and staff should also be aware of tailgating, and must not use their ID card to grant access to anyone else.

Further information

This new secure bike storage facility is in addition to the numerous bike-locking stands located outside the front of the College.

Please note that, other than for bike storage, the LCC car park is not open for general use for students or staff. Use of the car park is granted for deliveries, and for those students, staff and visitors with access requirements only.

If you experience any issues with this storage area, please inform the UAL Estates team – visit the Estates pages of the UAL website, or visit the LCC Reception desk.
