Course overview

This course will teach you how to create a social media strategy to build your business and online marketing campaign. You'll learn the tools you need to build a network and run social media campaigns on Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), YouTube and other platforms.

It'll give you an overview of social media's role in driving customer engagement, and its role in optimising Google search rankings (SEO). By taking part in practical exercises you will learn how to establish a clear voice across social media networks and how to get the most from them, with appropriate and engaging content.

This course is available both on campus or online.

She has worked on digital communications for world-renowned creative institutions, independent businesses, and leading British fashion brands. With a key skillset in multi-channel communications strategy, Megan mostly works across campaigns, strategy, and digital content development.

Kalina Pulit

Kalina has been working in the creative industry for the past thirteen years with her practice exploring fields of Creative Direction, Fashion Styling, Photography and Filmmaking.

Having graduated from BA (Hons) Fashion Styling and Photography at London College of Fashion, Kalina went on to assist fashion industry's top Stylists and Creative Directors such as Edward Enninful, Karen Langley, Lucia Liu and Yeyoung Kim to name a few. Kalina then moved on to work as a freelance Creative Director and Fashion Stylist, producing work for multiple magazines and brands.

As the ever-evolving creative industry shifts towards online spaces, so too has Kalina’s practice. Now, predominantly working with photo and video-based media, she creates and curates a variety of content that communicates brand narratives and stories across multiple digital channels.

Byron Johnson-Brown

Byron Johnson-Brown is an experienced educator and practitioner in digital marketing, with a rich background in policy strategy, health equity, and digital innovation. He brings a unique interdisciplinary approach to teaching digital marketing, integrating insights from his diverse professional journey. Byron's expertise is underpinned by his extensive experience in managing successful programs and his recognition as a Digital Pioneer Fellow by Digital Health London.

With a Masters degree focused on digital professional identity and a strong academic background, Byron has honed his skills in mentoring, coaching, and stakeholder engagement. His work has been recognized with the prestigious Elizabeth Garrett Anderson Award for impactful and dynamic leadership. Additionally, Byron is a repeat contributor to the American Express Leadership Academy for non-profit leaders, where he has developed sessions aimed at enhancing leadership skills in the EMEA region.

Byron's professional journey includes significant roles at prestigious institutions such as the University College London and the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman. He has successfully led projects that span across digital transformation, health inequalities, and open data, demonstrating his ability to manage complex, multidisciplinary programs.

Byron recently delivered tutorials in the Principles of Marketing in a Global Context module, where he combines theoretical knowledge with practical insights to prepare students for the dynamic field of digital marketing. He is dedicated to equipping his students with the knowledge and tools they need to succeed in the ever-evolving digital landscape.
