Creative CLO3D for Absolute Beginners Online Short Course

Course description

The Creative CLO3D for Absolute Beginners Online Short Course is designed to equip students with the knowledge needed to start visualising garments in virtual 3D.

During the 10-week course, students gain an understanding of the CLO3D interface and its application. The course explores how the software can inform design processes and shape the development of digital garments. Students gain an insight into its current use in AR try-on apps, skins for gaming and NFTs.

The course guides students on how to create their own bespoke avatar, changing the measurements, colours, hair and footwear. You will learn how use garment blocks and adapt them, as well as how to select digital fabrics and apply them to projects.

The course covers how to add many key design elements including placement prints, repeat prints, cut and sew knit, and bespoke texture and textiles. Students learn how to use a range of digital sewing tools, including making quilted or inflatable garments, and adding zips, labels and branding.

Students will be guided on how to present their final design on a turntable or catwalk and store their digital garments on a shared online platform. The course also addresses where students may sell their digital creations.
