The Understanding Undertones and Complexion for Makeup Short Course is a 10-week hands-on makeup course at London College of Fashion. Taught through a combination of lectures and exercises, the course is designed to help students develop the skills and mindset needed to not only excel but standout as a professional make-up artist.
Short course students have the opportunity to enjoy the excellent facilities at London College of Fashion, East Bank. London College of Fashion has been nurturing creative talent for over a century with a philosophy of open and inclusive education.
The course will facilitate your understanding and advance your knowledge of the fundamentals for beauty makeup, bridal makeup and professional makeup. The tutor will create fresh beauty looks with an emphasis on understanding undertones and variations in complexions. There will also be a focus on correcting hyperpigmentation for deep melanated skin tones, golden brown complexions and fair or pale skin tones.
You will be guided through a series of practical hands-on sessions and photoshoots, allowing you to fully explore your creativity by creating a unique portfolio with the support of a professional photographer and hair stylist. You'll also have the chance to engage with the tutor and consult on business, brand growth, beauty marketing, brand positioning and career guidance.
The course offers an opportunity to test hypotheses, brainstorm and learn from one another while sharing professional experiences that prove or debunk makeup and beauty principles. Students are encouraged to engage with each other throughout the course to enhance the learning experience and build relationships which may be beneficial in the future.
