Liv Barnes

Biography

Liv has over ten years of experience in the fashion and textiles industry, supporting knowledge exchange, materials innovation and R&D across the textiles supply chain. She has varied experience supporting collaborative R&D projects through the Business of Fashion, Textiles & Technology (BFTT) Partnership and expertise identifying and developing funding proposals between SME’s and academic partners, to solve challenges faced by businesses and the wider industry.

Liv joined UAL from a leading trend forecasting company, WGSN, where she was responsible for content creation, sourcing strategies and trend analysis across innovative fibre, yarn, textile and knitwear development. Passionate about knowledge and skill sharing, Liv has worked on education initiatives in commercial and charity settings.

An Alumni of Chelsea College of Arts, Liv has a degree in Textile Design, specialising in constructed textiles for fashion and interiors.
