Professor Andrew Teverson has been appointed UAL Pro Vice-Chancellor and Head of London College of Fashion. He will take up post on 14 March 2022.

Andrew is currently Interim Head of London College of Fashion and Professor of Cultural History & Critical Thinking. He has led academic strategy at the college since 2019, joining UAL from Kingston University, where he was Head of the Schools of Arts, Culture and Communication.

Professor Roni Brown, UAL Deputy Vice-Chancellor Education, said:

“Andrew is a formidable thinker and a delight to work with. This is an excellent appointment at a critical juncture in London College of Fashion’s history.”

Professor Andrew Teverson said:

“It’s an honour to lead this wonderful creative institution as we prepare to come together under one roof for the first time in 2023. Over the next few years, we will create a new sense of community for students and staff, and secure our pre-eminence as a dynamic force for innovation in the global and local fashion industry.”

As a researcher and scholar, Andrew has written extensively on literature, culture and the visual arts, with an emphasis on narrative tradition and storytelling. Recent books include the edited collection The Fairy Tale in the Modern Age (volume 6 of The Bloomsbury Cultural History of Fairy Tale, 2021), and a critical edition, The Selected Children’s Fictions, Folk Tales, and Fairy Tales of Andrew Lang (Edinburgh University Press, 2021).
