Josephine Akinde

Biography

Josephine Akinde has been a proud and committed member of the UAL community for over 13 years. She began her journey at UAL through a temping agency and now holds the position of Lead Fee Manager within Central Finance. Over the years, she has witnessed and contributed to some of the University’s most significant milestones, including the relocation of Central Saint Martins to the Granary Building, the implementation of a new student records system (SITS), and the formation of the Creative Computing Institute (CCI).

Josephine is passionate about equity and inclusion and serves as a diversity champion within the Finance department. She actively engages with students by visiting colleges, viewing their projects, and listening to their experiences. This direct interaction helps shape more accessible and student-focused financial services. Her favourite part of the role is knowing that the work of her team contributes positively to the student experience and their journey through UAL.

Outside the University, Josephine is a Parent Governor at her children’s primary school, where she sits on the Finance and Safeguarding committees and leads on SEND and Pay and Progression.
