We commit to ensuring this website is as accessible as possible and we want as many people as possible to be able to use it. This means that you should be able to:
- access the website regardless of the device and browser you are using
 - zoom in up to 300% without the text spilling off the screen

We have also tried to make the website text as easy to understand as possible although we recognise we have more work to do on this.
AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.

Compliance status
This website is not compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard. The non-compliances and exemptions are listed below.
Non-accessible content
The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.
Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations
The accessibility issues that can only be resolved by our supplier are listed below:
- The UAL logo is a link and is missing alternative text. We have not met WCAG success criteria 1.1.1 Non-text Content (Level A).Some buttons on the website are missing descriptive text making the function of these buttons unclear to screen reader users. We have not met WCAG success criteria 1.1.1 Non-text Content (Level A) and 2.4.4. Link Purpose (In Context) (Level A).
 - Some buttons on the website are missing descriptive text making the function of these buttons unclear to screen reader users. We have not met WCAG success criteria 1.1.1 Non-text Content (Level A) and 2.4.4. Link Purpose (In Context) (Level A).
 - The site uses layout tables to position content visually but these tables are not tabular and may cause navigation order issues for screen readers. We have not met WCAG success criteria 1.3.1 Info and Relationships (Level A) 1.3.2 Meaningful sequence (Level A).
 - The colour contrast of some of the text does not meet the minimum required colour contrast ratio of 4.5:1 for normal text. This fails WCAG success criterion 1.4.3: Contrast (Minimum) (Level AA).
 - the language of the website has not been set. Identifying the language of the website ora particular webpage allows screen readers to read content in the appropriate language. We have not met WCAG success criterion 3.1.1. Language of Page (Level A).
 - Some form controls do not have corresponding labels so their purpose may not be presented to screen reader users. We have not met WCAG success criteria 2.4.6 Headings and Labels (Level A) and 3.3.2 Labels or Instructions (Level A).

Disproportionate burden
UAL has little control over the functionality, design or user interface of CELCAT and our supplier is reliant on third-party framework and controls that do not meet WCAG 2.1 accessibility standard.
We continue to raise the issue of accessibility with our supplier and to lobby them to make improvements to their product. Seeking to address these issues would take many years of redevelopment and to the detriment of user experience especially for Timetabler users.
What we’re doing to improve accessibility
CELCAT is currently developing a completely new and redesigned Timetabler 10 web application. We cannot say at this stage whether it will conform fully to WCAG 2.1AA although we do know it will be compliant with WAI-ARIA standard. We continue to lobby them over the accessibility of their product.
