On Thursday 15 August, the Australia Alumni Group organised a meet-up for graduates, current students and prospective students in THEECA, Sydney.

It was a chance for prospective students to ask questions ahead of moving to London, and for graduates to share their own experiences, as well as broaden their personal and creative networks in the city.

The event was organised by Jo Lane, co-leader of the Australia Alumni Group, and Gavin McGuire from BCIC, recruitment agent for UAL. They were joined by Philip Scurrah, International Student Recruitment Coordinator Academic for London College of Fashion.

I for one just needed to share space with people who’d had the enormous experience of leaving home and immersing oneself in to a new country, education system and society. No one else knows what that feels like! The knowledge you gather, and hold is very special, and I am so glad and grateful to those who have made the effort tonight to join us here and share this.
