Biography

Daniel David Freeman is a London-based artist known for his multidisciplinary approach, blending graphic design, illustration, fashion, and fine art.

Freeman’s artistic journey began with a focus on editorial illustration eventually leading to solo exhibitions around the world. His work often explores themes of fandom, technology, and identity, utilizing mediums like printmaking, sculpture, and textiles.

Beyond his exhibition practice, Freeman has ventured into fashion with his project “Get A Life,” an unconventional, ‘imaginary’ clothing label that reworks vintage garments through embroidery and screen printing. His art reflects the chaos and contradictions of contemporary life, frequently addressing how digital media and musical interests shape personal and collective identities.

Drawing from the visual language of countless niche subcultures, Freeman’s creations highlight the ways in which these spaces provide avenues for rebellious self-expression in an increasingly homogenized world.

Freeman’s work has appeared in group shows at Somerset House, The ICA and the Hammer Museum as well as having multiple solo shows across London. He recently exhibited at the Ace Hotel in Kyoto, Japan in a show curated by Tokyo’s Commune Gallery.

Finally, his commercial clients include brands such as Simone Rocha, Adidas, Converse and Dover Street Market.
