Biography

Emily Wood is Course Leader for BA Graphic Design at Camberwell College of Arts. She believes that both teaching and graphic design are fundamental to creating a more sustainable future. Graphic designers are trained to distribute information and messages, and need to use this skill wisely and with empathy for the planet and future generations.

After a BSc in Geography from Leeds University focusing on pollution in rivers, she went on to Camberwell Foundation Course, and then to BA Graphic Design at Central Saint Martins, where her interest in environmental issues continued to developed through graphic design practice.

After graduating she worked for various design agencies in London, including Pentagram and Johnson Banks. She then went on to co-found REG Design with Ruth Sykes: a design practice which is interested in how graphic design can help improve people’s lives, working with clients in the education and cultural sectors.

Since founding REG Design she has combined her design work with her teaching practice at Central Saint Martins, Kingston School of Art, and now Camberwell College of Arts. She is a fellow of HEA, and has an MA in Academic Practice, which included research into inclusivity, student progression and sustainability.
