Peter Kapos is a philosopher, writer and curator whose research is developed around German philosophy in relation to art, design history and contemporary practice.
Kapos is particularly interested in the utopian precedents of mid-20th century design styles, their ideological appropriations and applications, as well as their continuing influence and uses.
Kapos’ curatorial projects are conceived as speculative proposals or constructive activities, while his exhibitions position artefacts as possibilities rather than historically defined conclusions. In 2010 Kapos was awarded a PhD in Philosophy, which explored the problem in Immanuel Kant’s and Johann Fichte’s practical philosophy.
