About Chelsea College of Arts

Chelsea College of Arts has an international reputation as a prestigious inter-disciplinary art school, with leading artists and designers starting their careers at Chelsea for over 100 years.

Interior and spatial design is one of the largest subject areas at Chelsea. A wide range of programmes are offered, such as short courses, undergraduate degrees, postgraduate degrees and research. Our large teaching faculty have expertise in a wide range of disciplines, including;

  • residential and commercial interiors
  • design of large-scale public spaces
  • design management and business skills
  • visual communication and research
  • furniture and product design
  • textile design

As a student of a large art school like Chelsea, you will learn interior design as a subject that is situated within a broader art and design context. This means you will study in a more open way, exploring wide ranges of influences and ideas, and being challenged to experiment and think creatively about your designs. You will also be encouraged to achieve very high standards in both your technical and creative execution.
