Whilst studying Broadcast Journalism at London College of Communication, James Waterhouse developed his journalistic style and went on to report on current and foreign affairs. Throughout his early professional career, he covered poaching in Malawi, a refugee crisis on the Syrian border and NATO’s failed attempts to deter Russian aggression in the Arctic Circle.
James was appointed to the role of BBC’s Ukraine Correspondent following his acclaimed reporting as Kyiv correspondent and has been central to the award-winning coverage since the war started. His accessible style resonates with millions. His reports cover the geo-politics of the Ukraine conflict, the reality of the front lines as well as the communities trying to recover from the attacks. He is also a regular on the award-winning podcast Ukrainecast and occasionally presents on the BBC World Service.
