Biography

Miriam is a maker, educator and researcher.

She is interested in listening and drawing and how these processes can be used to document experience and facilitate learning. Playing with ideas from Acoustic Ecology, Communication Studies and Anthropology. Previously working as a Senior Lecturer in Illustration at Camberwell, UAL.

She has led on projects promoting inclusion, equity and justice through making. Interested not just in the introduction of liberatory practices, but their sustainability through teaching, planning and management. In previous roles she has specialised in student experience and student journey.

She is excited by the research ecologies, support structures, and commons that can grow within existing frameworks. Also by moments of transition and translation in academic practice and the transformative effect this can have on the lives of educators and their students.
