Biography
I am a Senior Educational Developer, an author, and a designer. Now based at London College of Fashion, my primary work focuses on promoting social justice and equity in assessment through supporting staff. I am passionate about inclusive teaching and run workshops and create resources on this subject. I continue to engage in teaching at undergraduate level. I produce research and talk at conferences about assessment.Since 2017, I have served as the College Lead at Central Saint Martins (CSM) starting at LCF in August 2025.
Previously I was one of the founders of the Academic Enhancement Model while in the Teaching and Learning Exchange. Between 2014 and 2017 I was the CSM Academic Coordinator for Student Enterprise and Employability, driven by my commitment to supporting students in accessing self-employment or paid work.
Volunteering: I co-chaired UAL’s Disabled and Neurodiverse Staff Network until July 2024, where I actively campaigned for the representation of staff with diverse abilities. I currently serve as a Trustee at the Natural History Museum, a role I undertook through the Department for Levelling Up’s Boardroom Apprentice Scheme, which aims to increase diversity in UK boardrooms. This is now part of Dept of Housing, Communinites and Local Government. My ongoing teaching practice is centered in journalism and publishing studies, currently within the Fashion Programme at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts, London.
Publishing
Beyond UAL, I am an author with Laurence King Publishing. The third edition of Editorial Design: Digital and Print, was released in the UK and US in November 2024, includes new interviews and highlights global practitioners, alumni, and students.
I am involved with editorial networks such as Magculture and BSME and have long been dedicated to supporting access for individuals from non-traditional backgrounds into design. I co-founded the Editorial Designers Organisation (1999-2007)and have been an active member of the Society of Publication Designers in New York.
