Biography

Galia is an artist, writer and curator; she works collaboratively with Dr Pil Kollectiv to make work which explores the relationship between art and politics. Through performance, film and sculptural installations, they have been interrogating the organisation of labour and the manifestations of ideology in late capitalism.

Prior to her current role at the Chelsea College of Art and Design, Galia was a senior lecturer at London Metropolitan and lecturer and director of postgraduate research at the University of Reading. Galia completed her joint PhD in Art with Pil Kollectiv at Goldsmiths, University of London, in 2013. Together they have had solo shows at Pump House Gallery, London, Te Tuhi Center for the Arts, New Zealand, S1 Artspace, Sheffield and The Showroom Gallery, London. They have also presented live work at the Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam, the 5th Berlin Biennial and the 5th Montreal Biennial, as well as at Kunsthall Oslo, Arnolfini, Bristol and Late at Tate Britain, and worked as directors of artist run project space xero, kline & coma.
