Biography
Helen is the Project Lead for the Help to Grow Management programme at the Fashion Business School, where she works closely with SMEs to support their growth and strategic development. She also facilitates the Business Builder programme in collaboration with UCL, aimed at empowering micro businesses within the local community.In addition to supporting SMEs, Helen continues to work with final-year students on the BA in Buying & Merchandising and the Graduate Diploma in Fashion Management, guiding them through the final stages of their academic journey and preparing them for professional careers in the fashion industry.
With over twenty years of experience in higher education, Helen is a passionate and experienced educator in the field of fashion buying and merchandising. She previously led the Postgraduate Certificate in Buying & Merchandising and has contributed to a range of programmes across the Fashion Business School.
Helen has also designed and delivered a variety of short courses and masterclasses for industry professionals at London College of Fashion (LCF), and has worked extensively with design students—equipping them with the commercial knowledge and critical skills essential for navigating the fashion industry.
Her career began at House of Fraser, advancing from a buying assistant to head of merchandising across multiple categories. Helen also owned a lifestyle concept store, combining her buying and merchandising expertise with entrepreneurial experience. This unique perspective allows her to offer valuable insights into the integration of design, product management, and business, which is especially beneficial for supporting students, graduates, and SMEs.
