            Biography
Dr Irida Ntalla is a Senior Lecturer in Communications and Media at London College of Communication.Irida is a Fellow of Higher Education Academy with years of teaching experience in the fields of media studies and digital cultures, media management, creative industries and gender studies both in undergraduate and postgraduate level.
Her recent current research project titled ‘Single motherhood and digital intimate publics’ pays attention in mediated practices and discourses of single parenting expanding existing scholarship on parenthood, social media and technologies significant to the fields of media and communication studies, digital sociology, and gender studies. Irida has published in academic journals such as Social Media and Society, and Culture, Theory and Critique.
She holds a PhD in Creative Industries and Cultural Management from City, University of London. Her doctoral research examined digital and immersive practices on museums, galleries and the heritage sector, through critical and audience research, which was also explored further through a doctoral AHRC-funded project ‘New media, audiences and affective experiences’.
Prior, Irida was a Senior Lecturer in Media, and Programme Leader for the MA Media Management at Middlesex University, with extensive experience in curriculum development responding to the evolving skillset requirement of the creative and digital economy dedicated to teaching informed and led by research.
Irida is interested in supervising PhD students in the field of immersive and mediated experiences and social phenomena in museum and heritage studies, mediated practices and digital narratives, as well as research that focuses on gender studies, feminism and digital intimacies.
