Biography
Judah Armani is a senior research fellow within the Design Against Crime Research Centre at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London where he contributes to research on UK & USA prisons within the team.He is currently researching Neurodiversity within challenging circumstances, with the intention of capturing his reflections in a joint publication with Prof Lorraine Gamman.
He founded the award-winning Inhouse Records CiC, a rehabilitative record label for change operating in and out of multiple UK & USA prisons. Judah recently developed the “Core Competency Matrix” in association with Ernst & Young; a creative tool that measures and tracks the social skill of an individual with a view to developing. He has also designed a process of co-creation for beneficiary stakeholder engagement based on his research in forming safe and enabling environments.
Judah has won numerous awards for his Covid-19 response to prisoners under severe lockdown measures through the design, publication and delivery (over 50,000 issues to date) of a full colour, weekly Educational Music Magazine called “Aux” and a weekly distance learning programme called “Continuum, Lucky 13’s” a fresh approach to learning based on a regular deck of cards, providing image based development and offering accredited qualifications and industry awards that lead to work experience.
