Biography

Dr Konstantinos Pappas is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Media at the London College of Communication (University of the Arts London) and Course Leader of the BA (Hons) Public Relations.

He holds a PhD in Intercultural Public Communication from Aristotle University. In his PhD, he explored the impact of political unrest on foreign communication professionals, by taking as a case study the failed coup attempt of 2016 in Turkey and its impact on the European journalists working and living in Istanbul, who face online harassment and resort to self-censorship due to their cultural identity as the Other.

Before joining LCC, Konstantinos has worked at universities in Turkey, Greece and France. During his 20-year long industry experience, he has worked as journalist, news presenter and later as Head of Media and Communications for the main opposition party in the Greek Parliament.

Konstantinos is passionate about the advocacy role of PR and communication as a driver for social change for the greater good within the current global political stage, with the emergence of alt-right narratives, especially in the West.
