Biography

Laura-Beth is a mixed-media animator and filmmaker whose films have been screened internationally and has worked for various studios and clients. She is a co-founding member of the Weird Eye Collective. She is currently the year 2 stage leader on MA Character Animation at Central Saint Martins. As well as previously teaching at Sheffield Hallam University and the University of the West of England.

Laura-Beth has a practice-led PhD from The University of the West of England, with a focus on the use of new technology within the animation industry. Her research activities include looking at animation from a practical, technical and cultural perspective. She has spoken at multiple conferences and symposiums, written academically, critically and journalistically for various online and print journals and is the current Features Writer for Skwigly Online Animation Magazine. She is also a member of the Society for Animation Studies (SAS) and the British Association of Film, Television and Screen Studies (BAFTSS).
