Biography

Dr Liz Tregenza is a Lecturer in Cultural & Historical Studies at London College of Fashion.

Liz's monograph Wholesale Couture: London and Beyond 1930-1970, was published with Bloomsbury in 2023. Her edited collection (co-edited with Bethan Bide and Jade Halbert), Everyday Fashion: Interpreting British Clothing Since 1600 , was also published with Bloomsbury in 2023.

Liz's primary research interests include:

- 20th century British ready-to-wear fashion
- Second-hand and vintage fashion
- Stories of fashion and immigration (with a focus on immigration into the UK)
- Fat fashion (history of outsize/plus size industry and its contemporary status)
- Using fashion history to reimagine contemporary sustainable solutions
- Reimagining fashion history through digital technology
- Fashion and parenthood
- Topics dealing broadly with fashion curation/fashion in the museum
- Experiences of shopping- historic and contemporary
