Biography

Lynne Finn is an accomplished events and academic programme manager with a rich and varied career spanning the arts, education, and defence sectors. Her early professional experience began within the Ministry of Defence and the nuclear submarine industry, where she developed a strong foundation in clerical and administrative practices.



Transitioning into the arts, Lynne held a number of significant roles at the Royal College of Music, where she served as assistant to the Deputy Director and Director of Studies. She later managed faculty administration and coordinated the prestigious Masterclass programme, hosting world-renowned artists such as Stephen Isserlis and Evelyn Glennie. She also organised the College's annual Graduation Ceremonies during her tenure.


In 1999, Lynne joined the Royal College of Art, working in the Interaction Design department under Gillian Crampton Smith and collaborating on major projects with Dunne & Raby and Bill Gaver, including the Equator Project. Her role focused on managing research projects and cultivating relationships with external partners such as Philips.



Lynne later supported Bill Gaver's research at Goldsmiths before joining the University of the Arts London (UAL) in 2008. At UAL, she has played a pivotal role in Events Management and serves as Secretary to the UAL Professoriate. She has led the coordination of Research Symposia, International Conferences (V&A Frida Kahlo Conference 2018, Design Museum 2019, the Professorial Platform programme and with visiting Professors Peter York and Jan Harlan, and UAL’s highly successful Research Season, which spanned across all six colleges.
