Biography

Nina is an educator who collaborates with others to develop teaching and learning that nurtures fashion practices that foreground human and planetary health, whilst critically examining the role of education in a world experiencing multiple ecological and societal crises. Nina leads projects that co-create a range of teaching and learning scenarios with partners from higher education, research and industry to find experimental spaces for learning both in the classroom and online. The delivery of these models informs the research work of CSF and enhances our understanding of the essential skills and capabilities for practitioners and creative thinkers of restorative and regenerative fashion systems, alongside the incorporation of new pedagogic models, where learners become agents for change in a learning community. Nina has expertise in bringing sustainability and fashion thinking and practice to large cohorts of lifelong learners through the design and delivery of MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses).

Nina works as part of the leadership team at Centre for Sustainable Fashion, overseeing the shaping of world-relevant teaching and learning for fashion design, business and communication. This involves leadership at London College of Fashion and University of the Arts London through its Climate Action Plan, co-chairing the Academic Discourse & Action Learning Committee - a team of academics, students and support staff working together to embed climate, social and racial justice into teaching and learning across levels and disciplines.

She holds an MA Transnational Studies and a Certificate in Education for Sustainable Development from the Earth Charter Initiative. She has been awarded Advance HE Senior Fellowship (SFHEA).
