Biography

Dr. Nina Van Volkinburg is the Course Leader of the MA Strategic Fashion Marketing programme at London College of Fashion, University of the Arts, London, UK. She holds a Ph.D. in Marketing titled "Disruption to Destruction: Exploring the Effects of Digital Disruption on the Value Creation Processes within the Field of Fashion through the Lens of Service-Dominant Logic". She is an ethnographer by training and her research interests revolve around how emerging technologies, specifically Extended Reality (XR), impact value co-creation and shape service ecosystems within the fashion sector. She is also passionate about applying technology to help provide access and democratise enterprise-related teaching and learning practices.

She is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, and sits on the advisory board of World Collective. Previously she founded and led RETURE (2020-2022), a UK-based fashion upcycling technology platform.
