Biography
Rui Shi is a London-based interdisciplinary artist and researcher, holding a degree from the Royal College of Art and currently pursuing a Ph.D. at the University of the Arts London (UAL). Their artistic exploration revolves around marginalized identities through the lens of queer phenomenology, spanning various disciplines such as gaming archives, philosophy, queer ecology, and geopolitics. Rui is particularly passionate about redefining queer experiences within digital spaces.Rui's artistic practice delves into the navigation and embodiment of queer identities in spatial contexts. Utilizing mediums including moving image, performance, and sculpture, Rui creates immersive experiences that challenge conventional narratives and provoke critical dialogue surrounding issues of identity, space, and representation.
