Biography

Sara is a Mexican multidisciplinary storyteller based in London, working across animation, photography, and graphic design to craft powerful, socially engaged narratives. She is driven by themes of social justice, climate action, Human Rights, culture, and diversity.
Her animated documentary I Was Attacked, which explores gender-based violence as a global issue, was selected for over 20 festivals, earned multiple awards, and was shortlisted for the Student BAFTAs.

Her creative research engages with themes such as climate action, human rights, diversity, and decolonial perspectives in visual culture. She is especially interested in the intersection between creative practice and pedagogy—using image-making and animation as tools for inclusive education and social transformation. Sara develops work that blends analogue and digital methods to communicate complex narratives with clarity and emotional resonance.

Sara is also a committed educator in Higher Education, supporting emerging artists and designers in developing their own voices as visual storytellers. Her practice is deeply rooted in the ethics of narrative—exploring how and why we tell stories and the responsibilities that come with representing others. She is particularly interested in documentary animation, emerging mediums, and fostering international academic collaborations, especially between the UK and Mexico.
