Biography

Dr Soljana Çili has a Bachelor of Psychology (Hons) from the University of Malta and a PhD in Psychology from the University of Southampton. She joined UAL in 2014, the year in which London College of Fashion launched its psychology and fashion courses. Since then, she has taught and contributed to curriculum development in the BSc (Hons) Psychology of Fashion and MSc Applied Psychology in Fashion.

Currently, Dr Çili leads and teaches units focusing on individual differences. She supervises MSc and PhD research projects investigating fashion, the fashion industry, and arts-based interventions from a psychological perspective. She also chairs the Psychology Research Ethics Panel and organises the annual Applied Psychology in Fashion Conference.

Dr Çili is an ad hoc reviewer for several fashion and cognitive, social, personality, and clinical psychology journals. She has published her research in peer-reviewed psychology journals and presented it in national and international conferences. She is also co-author of the book Autobiographical memory and the self: Relationship and implications for cognitive-behavioural therapy (Routledge, 2019).
