Stef Thorne

Biography

I am a strategic leader, passionate about transforming lives and communities through education, entrepreneurship, research, knowledge exchange and innovation. I am committed to social and economic development and successfully create and develop teams to deliver high impact professional services. I lead and build relationships internally and externally with empathy.

I am currently the Associate Director for Knowledge Exchange at UAL having previously worked as the Associate Director for Business and Innovation, London College of Fashion. Prior to UAL I was the founding Director of Business Engagement and Entrepreneurship at the University of Suffolk and have led Research Support Services/Offices, an Innovation Centre and two Graduate Schools.

I am a champion for strategies in research and knowledge exchange, innovation, client relationship management, entrepreneurship, people development, business creation and growth. This is underpinned by a commitment to the values of social impact, collaboration and inclusivity. I enjoy working across systems and organizations to deliver results for stakeholders.

I have Board level experience as a Trustee (X2) and as a Chair of Governors
