Teo Dannemann

Biography

For the last 10 years, Teo has been advocated in teaching, researching and developing, always putting inter and transdisciplinarity in the centre, and trying to take research outputs beyond the academic (i.e. industry, government, NGOs). Teo has worked in the intersections of music, arts and technology in different conexts, that go from software developing for the music and film industry to the design and building of musical instruments for disabled users.
Teo is member of the Augmented Instruments Lab, where he has developed a series of hacked or "sabotaged" pianos, which have been premiered in London between 2021 and 2023.
He is also co-founder of the NIME Latin American research network, which advocates to involve Latin American artists, musicians and researchers into the global community of research around musical instruments and technology.
