Biography

Tobi Poster-Su is a UK-based scholar, puppeteer and theatre-maker. They lead the MA in Puppetry at Wimbledon College of Arts and are completing an AHRC-funded PhD (Towards a Critical Puppetry: Racialisation and Material Performance in the Twenty-First Century) at Queen Mary University of London. They have published in Studies in Theatre and Performance, Critical Stages, Theatre Journal and Applied Theatre Research and are co-convener of the TaPRA Bodies and Performance working group. As Artistic Director of Wattle and Daub, Tobi has co-created and performed in The Lonesome Death of Eng Bunker and The Depraved Appetite of Tarrare the Freak. They have worked as a puppetry director and puppeteer on shows including Tom Morris’s A Christmas Carol and RSC/Improbable’s My Neighbour Totoro.
