Biography

Verity is an experienced and qualified educator, researcher, maker and designer. Verity has been working within Costume for the past 25 years, after graduating from Wimbledon School of Art with a BA in Costume Interpretation. She has worked as a maker and a designer in film, TV, theatre, opera and dance; notably winning best Costume Design at Phoenix film festival.

Verity is an award winner of UAL Teaching Award and White Square Teaching award. She has worked at Central Saint Martin’s since 2011. Gaining a PgCert & becoming a Fellow of Higher Education (FHEA) in 2014, completing an MA in Academic Practice for Art, Design and Communication with distinction in 2024. Verity presented her academic research on the opening panel at the ETHO Technical Conference (in association with ELIA), the UAL Educational Conference and GLAD Symposium.

Her academic journal 'Thinking through making: What types of learning take place when HE students engage with a creative arts technician?' has been published with ADCHE 'Intellect Publications'.
