Yang Yang

Biography

Yang Yang is a PhD research student at Central Saint Martins. Her research explores contradictions between art, craft, and industrial production, as well as between individual autonomy and collective rationality in the context of mass production and consumption. Her work focuses on socially engaged art, specifically engaging with ceramics production and pragmatic approaches to craft factory.

She is a member of the China Female Ceramics Association and a member of council of the Conceptual Photography branch of the Shanghai Art Photography Association.

She has had curatorial projects at STArtz Gallery, GuiYang(2023), Wenda Gallery, YunNan(2021) and 501 Xu-Space, ChongQing(2021).
