Biography

Dr. Young-Jin Hur is the course leader of the MSc in Applied Psychology in Fashion and lectures in statistics and research methods across the science programme (BSc Psychology of Fashion, MSc Cosmetic Science, & MSc Applied Psychology in Fashion) at London College of Fashion, University of the Arts London.

Prior to his current post, Young-Jin taught at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and University College London (UCL). Young-Jin completed a psychology PhD at UCL in empirical aesthetics with his thesis "An empirical aesthetics of the sublime and beautiful." His expertise concern three areas: the predictors and correlates of fashion preferences; the psychology of the sublime and the beautiful; and broader methodological and conceptual issues in the psychology of aesthetics. Young-Jin holds degrees from the LSE, UCL, and the University of Cambridge.

In his free time, Young-Jin is a classical music journalist and runs a classical music blog.
