Summary of the Graduate Package

UAL Graduates who successfully complete their Bachelors (BA) and Masters (MA, or Postgraduate) Programmes have access to the Graduate Package.

This includes extended use of:

for 12 months starting from the official completion date of their course.

Graduates who are eligible

Students completing Bachelors (BA) or Masters (MA) courses.

Eligible students who are approaching their course end date will be sent an email 2 months prior to their course end date asking them to agree to UAL’s terms of use.

Students will have up to 3 months after their course end date to agree to terms of use, during which time several reminders will be sent to both UAL and personal email addresses.

If no agreement has been given by this date, then the offer of extended access and employability support will be withdrawn. Unfortunately, It is not possible to reinstate access after that point as accounts will have been deleted.

Graduates who are not eligible
  • Students on FE courses (or any course other than Bachelors or Masters)
  • Students who have failed (*see below)
  • Students studying on (International) UAL programmes, outside of the UK
  • Students studying on UAL online courses.

*Students who have not successfully completed (failed) their courses are still able to access some employability resources on UAL’s website and can still attend online workshops.

They can also book one-to-ones, with Employability Specialists (for up to 6 months/year). However, they will not have access to the Graduate Package.

Privacy policy

For one year, UAL will continue to process some of the information you provided or that was created about you as a student in order to provide ongoing support and access to some of our undergraduate systems and services, as well as some additional services, under GDPR legal basis 6(1)(b) “necessary for the performance of a contract” (the graduate offer agreement you have signed).

This data will include your name, UAL email address and contact details, and information will also be created about your attendance at workshops or events, use of our systems, information you provide within events or platforms, advice provided to you by teaching and support staff etc.

As appropriate for the activities you engage in with us under the agreement, your information will be processed on the same systems used for undergraduate student data as described in the Student Privacy Policy, except for information you provide as part of online interview practice, which will be shared with Abintegro. Your data will be used to support the extended services offered to you and not shared with others or used for other purposes unless required by UK law or as otherwise appropriate under the Data Protection Act 2018.

Your personal data necessary for access and use of these additional services will be retained in line with undergraduate retention periods, i.e. 6 years after your graduation for most records, and permanently for the core student record showing details of your attendance and results.

Data held on Abintegro will be deleted by them 6 months after the end of the service they provide. At the end of your extended access, UAL will process your data as described in the Alumni privacy notice where you can find more information about UAL and your privacy rights.

Your questions

I'm progressing immediately to a Masters (MA) course

An undergraduate who begins a Masters course at UAL immediately upon completion of their Bachelors degree will still have their extended access from the time of their Bachelors course completion date.

During this time while still studying they will also have normal full access to online resources and to career support provided by Careers & Employability. A new (second) graduate extension will then start from the Masters course completion date.

I've missed the deadline to sign up

It is not possible to reinstate access after the deadline has passed as accounts will have been deleted and the offer of extended access will be withdrawn as described in the policy.

You can continue to access and employability resources on UAL’s website and can still attend online workshops and book 121s, with Graduate Employability Specialists.

I'm undertaking deferrals or referrals

Students who have been required to take referrals or deferrals after their original course end date will still have access to the graduate extension from the time of the original course end date. The extension will not be delayed or extended due to referrals and deferrals.
