Postgraduate fee instalments

You can pay tuition fees in instalments for all postgraduate courses that have at least 30 weeks duration. This includes graduate diplomas and research degrees.

  • This does not apply to sponsor payments, which have a 30 day payment term.
  • You can read about instalment dates for MBA courses on their course pages.
  • Please log in to your UAL Portal to see details of your instalment plan.

If you are an undergraduate student you can read about Undergraduate Tuiton Fees.

Dates and instalment amounts

Your course start date and duration determine the instalment plan.

Courses starting September or October

Courses lasting 1 year or more (of 3 terms each year) and research degrees:

  • 50% on or at enrolment
  • 30% January
  • 20% April

For students on courses which are longer than 1 year, the instalments above apply to the first year of the course.  An instalment plan for the next year's tuition fee must be set up before enrolling onto that year of the course.

These instalment dates also apply to those continuing onto Year 2 of their postgraduate course in September or October.

Four term courses:

  • 40% on or at enrolment
  • 20% January
  • 20% April
  • 20% August

Courses starting January

Courses lasting 1 year or more (of 3 terms each year) and research degrees:

  • 50% at or before enrolment
  • 30% April
  • 20% August

You may have a successful application for the Postgraduate Master's Loan or Doctoral Loan. You can use this towards payment of your tuition fees.

Instalment notices

  • The first tuition fee instalment must be paid before you can enrol onto your course.
  • If you're an international student, UK Visas & Immigration (UKVI) require you to have the funds to pay the full tuition fees for the first year. You must have held these funds for at least 28 consecutive days at the point you apply for the visa. Find out more about immigration and visas.
  • Remaining up to date with payments is a necessary part of your enrolment. If you enrol and withdraw from the course 14 days after the course start date, or the date you first attended if later, you are liable for the full tuition fee. See the Student Fees Policy for more information.
