A Week in the Life: Studying Strategic Fashion Marketing at London College of Fashion (LCF)

It’s business school, it’s fashion school, it’s survival of the chicest — welcome to a week in my life studying MA Strategic Fashion Marketing at London College of Fashion (LCF).
Monday:
Good morning, London! Unlike the unlucky souls stuck in Monday 9am classes, I have no lectures, which means I get to live my best princess life.
I luxuriate in my morning routine (read: sleep in shamelessly), then throw on a cute loungewear set and stroll through Regent’s Park, specifically the Queen Mary’s Rose Garden. Yes, I literally stop and smell the roses. It’s therapeutic, try it.
Afterwards, I treat myself to a sweet lunch on Baker Street and people-watch like it’s my full-time job. Watching Londoners hustle by while you sip a slow coffee? Pure main character energy.
Tuesday:
Tuesdays mean business. I pull on my favourite power pantsuit (thank you, Vinted gods) and head to my Advanced Marketing Strategy lecture.
One week we’re deep-diving into trend forecasting frameworks; the next, decoding luxury brand strategies for emerging markets. No big deal. Casual world domination.
The lectures are super interactive, we’re constantly encouraged to debate, challenge ideas, and apply theory to real-world fashion case studies. No sitting in silence here, you will have opinions.
After class, I head to the British Library dressed in full academic cosplay: sleek turtleneck, statement glasses (non-prescription, obviously), and a coffee IV drip. I lock in for a marathon study session and pretend I'm the intellectual main character of an indie film.
Wednesday:
Wednesdays are for career plotting. I carve out time to update my portfolio, refresh LinkedIn, and finesse cover letters, all while secretly manifesting a Creative Director title on my vision board.
This year, being a Post-Grad Community Ambassador at LCF gives me amazing access to career workshops, CV clinics, and networking events. Plus, I hosted my own event, a trip to the Naomi: In Fashion exhibit at the Victoria & Albert Museum. Fierce, right?
On the good-weather days, there’s nothing like hanging around campus after hours - sprawling out on the "Met Steps" of Stratford, soaking up the sun (if you’re lucky).
Thursday:
Thursday is when the group project madness kicks off. Strategic Fashion Marketing is basically a crash course in international teamwork - my classmates come from China, Italy, the U.S., Korea, and everywhere in between.
Together, we build campaigns, analyse competitors, and power through last-minute presentation preps. Sometimes it’s easy; sometimes it’s like herding stylish cats. But honestly? These projects have given me some of my best friends in London, shoutout to the magic of random group assignments.
My go-to look for group project days: cool denim, crisp white shirt, and about three tote bags full of notes and iced matcha.
Friday:
By Friday, it’s all about balance. That usually means a gallery visit, a long walk, or sunset therapy.
Last Friday? I perched on Primrose Hill, strawberries in hand, watching the London skyline glow. For a second, everything made sense. I literally whispered to myself: "Oh right, this is the whole point."
Weekend:
Weekends are for the hustle. I freelance in fashion styling and brand consulting - projects that let me unleash my inner Miranda Priestly (with slightly better manners).
One weekend I might be sourcing looks for an editorial shoot; another, consulting on brand identity for an indie label. No matter what, I somehow end up giving a mini-lecture on why cerulean blue shaped modern fashion history (if you know, you know).
Working weekends keeps me creatively sharp, sharpens my real-world skills, and reminds me why I fell in love with fashion in the first place.
Studying Strategic Fashion Marketing at LCF has been a whirlwind - challenging, inspiring, overwhelming (hello, deadlines) and completely transformative.
You don’t just leave with a degree. You leave with a new way of seeing brands, stories, strategy and yourself. Every week feels like a new runway, a new challenge, a new chance to step into the person you’re becoming. Fashion may move fast, but this year will stay with me forever.
