In this short film Sarah Craske – alumni of the Central Saint Martins MA Art & Science course discusses her Metamorphoses – Microbiological Hermeneutics project which won her the 2016 MullenLowe Nova Award. Sarah’s project explores and documents the bacterial history of a 17th century edition of Ovid’s masterpiece Metamorphoses, the film explores her experiences at working at the boundaries where different disciplines in her practice intersect.

A British artist, without category, now working at the intersection of Art, Science & Technology, Sarah is currently developing a personal transdisciplinary manifesto which she uses to govern her own practice. She is specifically interested in exploring how the concept of knowledge & data, practice & space, language & method, equipment & materials transform through transdisciplinary working & is developing her own transdiscipline – Biological Hermeneutics.
