Open Call to UAL's PhD Researchers
As part of UAL’s 2022 Research Season (Earth and Equity), Post-Grad Community are inviting PhD researchers from across UAL to take part in a small series of Common Room styled events.
To get involved or ask any questions, please contact Fred Kavanagh: f.kavanagh@arts.ac.uk
Thinking about a PhD?
We will bring together current MA students from across UAL to hear first-hand experiences of PhD researchers. What informed your decision to undertake a PhD? When did you know you were ready? Has your research changed during your current studies, and what has influenced these changes?
This will be an in-person discussion followed by a short Q&A.
To take part, please email the following information:
- What College or institute you are part of
- An outline of your research and how that would shape the discussion.
- Availability in mid- to late-March
Present your work (title dependent on research)
We are inviting PhD researchers from across UAL to showcase their current research to a small audience, encouraging those present to critically engage with the themes of the work.
Beyond this live event, a videographer will be present to capture engaging profile pieces for the artists, enabling their research to reach larger audiences both internally and externally to UAL. All will be made available on the Post-Grad Conversations page. An example of previous profile pieces can be seen on the Post-Grad Community YouTube channel.
To take part, please email the following information:
- An outline of your research and how that would shape the discussion.
- Accompanying visuals that would be present at the event
- Any experience you’ve had presenting your work on camera (not a requirement)
- Availability in mid- to late-March
If you have any questions, please contact Fred Kavanagh: f.kavanagh@arts.ac.uk
