Welcome to PhD Presents, a podcast brought to you by UAL’s Post-Grad Community.
In each episode we invite a postgraduate researcher to discuss their experiences and current practice in front of a live audience.
To kick off the series we spent an afternoon with London College of Fashion PhD Researcher Joana Monteiro who presented her current work exploring the potential of pattern cutting and garment making as a vehicle for social change.
Joana is also the founder of Knit Up, a social enterprise born from the desire to keep children warm with sustainable and ethically made wool accessories. You can find out more about Knit Up on their website www.knit-up.co.uk.
If you would like to present your work in front of a live audience as part of PhD presents, please contact pgcommunity@arts.ac.uk
