Post-Grad Interest Group - PhD Tea and Chat, hybrid attendance option

Currently welcoming current UAL PhD students / PhD Alumni.

What is ‘PhD Tea and Chat’?

Established by Meher Shiblee, Haiqi Yang, and Crystal Lezhi Zhang in their first year, PhD Tea and Chat is a sociable and supportive peer network created by PhD students, for PhD students, to come together as a community, to socialise or to study and help each other through their PhD journey.

What to Expect?

In each session, we will discuss a particular topic or address shared concerns, including the general academic process, such as Application for Registration, Post-Registration Ethics Form, Confirmation, Write-up, as well as open discussions, such as Skills Sharing, Presentation Practices, and Exhibition and Residency Opportunities. This platform provides an opportunity to network, share your research ideas, discuss your academic progress, and address any challenges that can be supported through peer-to-peer interaction.

PhD Tea and Chat is an inclusive gathering open to current PhD students and PhD Alumni from ALL six colleges and at ALL stages in their research degree. This environment fosters valuable connections with individuals who may have both similar and diverse experiences, enriching your PhD journey. You can join PhD Tea and Chat at any point in the year and at any point during your PhD.
We aim to come together online and/or in person, once a month for 1-2 hours. The meetings will be held at the UAL Doctoral School (272 High Holborn London WC1V 7EY), but the sessions are hybrid, and you can also join via Teams. The dates of the events are available on the PGR Events Calendar.
We also have Teams Channel and WhatsApp groups for discussions and chat between meetings. Simply get in touch with the core leaders to be added to these groups.
