Are you a student with caring responsibilities, a parent or a carer for someone at home?
The focus of this group, is to bring together students who have caring responsibilities. You may have young children or care for someone at home. The group is to act as an informal peer support group. To help with confidence and to enable you to find your own community at UAL.
We welcome postgraduates and undergraduates to join this group.
Meeting Format
We could meet for breakfast for a child free chat or we could go and see an exhibition with our children in toe. The members will help own the group and together plan it's activities.
We will set up a Teams Group for informal chats and shares and we will aim to meet on a monthly basis during school term times.
Group members can share coordination of the activities they wish to create. Attendance to all group events is not mandatory for membership. As and when you are free is fine.
Core Group Leader is Rachael Lakhan, Mum of two age 2 and 6 and also carer for an elderly 87 year old parent. She is the Post-Grad Community Manager and also the Co-Chair of the UAL Staff Parent and Carer Network.

Post-Grad Interest Groups at UAL
A growing number of issue specific, cross-disciplinary interest groups led by postgraduate students and academics are supported by us.
These groups connect creatives with shared research interests across different subject areas.
