Exploring neurodivergent art practices and lived experiences while challenging institutional barriers through creative methodologies and inclusive community building.

Neurodivergent Creatives Interest Group (NCIG) brings together artists, researchers, and practitioners to explore and celebrate neurodivergent perspectives within creative practices.

Who can join?

We create a supportive community for MA, PhD students, alumni, and external participants to share experiences, methodologies, and challenges related to neurodivergent approaches in art and research.

No diagnosis is required to participate—we welcome anyone interested in neurodivergent approaches to creative practice and research.

When does the group meet and where?

Our monthly meetings alternate between on-campus gatherings at UAL and visits to exhibitions, performances, or inclusive social events around London.

What to expect?

Participants can expect a welcoming, accessible environment that accommodates various needs and communication styles.

Activities include round-table discussions, collaborative workshops, guest presentations from neurodivergent artists researchers, and creative documentation sessions.

Overall aims of the group

Fostering community for neurodivergent creatives, challenging institutional barriers, and celebrating diverse artistic approaches through inclusive discourse and collaborative exploration.

The group aims to critically examine institutional barriers in both educational and freelance environments, while developing strategies to navigate and transform these structures.

We document our activities through visual media, writing, and other creative formats to share on Post-Grad Community platforms and potentially through journal publications, creating greater visibility for neurodivergent perspectives.

How to get in touch

The core leader is Attila Andrási, a neurodivergent choreographer and performance maker who is a CCW practice-based PhD student.
