Ana Blumenkron
MA Photojournalism and Documentary Photography (London College of Communication, 2021)
and ex-Post-Grad Community Liaison Coordinator (2020 - 2021)
Hello Ana! Could you introduce yourself?
My name is Ana Blumenkron and I am a Mexican Photographer. Studied at LCC MA Photojournalism and Documentary Photography and graduated in 2021. My work focuses on gender roles, sexuality, and romantic relationships from a feminist perspective.
Tell us about what you do now.
Currently I work as a stills photographer for films and TV shows. This means that I go on set and take photos while they are filming for publicity purposes, I have been in very cool sets like The Crown and The Black Mirror. Other clients include Spotify, The British Museum, Millennium Images, the Austrian Embassy and more. I take on editorial and personal commissions.
Additionally I have an art practice exhibiting my work in the UK, France, Japan, China and Mexico.

           What's your proudest moment?
Every time I have someone reaching out to me for a photography session, that makes me feel incredibly proud. But as a particular, the exhibition I had in 2022 in Patricia Conde Galeria in Mexico City, that displayed a retrospective of my love projects, is a highlight in my art career.
What’s your biggest strength?
My enthusiasm, creativity and endurance
What's your biggest weakness?
The anxiety has a tendency to give me impostor syndrome.
What's the most significant learning experience you've had?
That if you stay long enough in a field, the industry will look back at you. The idea is to keep persistent and in the same path, if you remain active and creative everything will be ok.
What's your favourite artwork?
Claude Cahun, French writer, photographer, and collage artist. Part of the surrealist movement. They developed their work around gender-fluid identity. My favourite photo is I am in training don’t kiss me.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
Doing bigger shoots with interesting brands, photographing key arts for big films and hosting more art work exhibitions.
