Spiritual Stitching is a collective of UAL postgraduates, alumni, and staff, interested in the art and meditation of embroidery.

Born from Post-Grad Family Heirloom embroidery workshops, Spiritual Stitching is a continuation of the community discovered at these gatherings.

Embroidery can often be considered as a mindful practise. At each Spiritual Stitch we will begin the session calmly centring ourselves before embarking on our projects. We’ll be there to encourage each other to connect spiritually to ourselves and embrace the meditative nature of hand stitching.

All levels are welcome to join, whether you’re a needlework novice or an embroidery expert.

Participants will have access to some materials at the session, however over time we encourage participants to build a collection of their own materials

Embroidery techniques will be taught and shared, so this group is accessible for complete beginners and expert needleworkers.

Our first meeting will take place on Tuesday 28 May, 2024, at UAL High Holborn Library's Wellbeing Zone. Book via Eventbrite.
